Die Demo-Version (PC – Steam) von Mad Metal hat ein wichtiges Update erhalten. Dadurch wurde der Multiplayer-Spielmodus hinzugefügt. Ab sofort können sich bis zu acht Spieler in diesem Action-Rennspiel gegeneinander antreten.
„I created Mad Metal from the ground-up to be a game you can tear through alone or drag a friend into,“ notes Hakim Elayday, founder of Mad Mechs Inc. „The very first prototype had multiplayer support but I pulled it before the May 2025 demo and labeled it as a single-player experience. My publisher (indie.io) later helped me open the doors to what our audience was asking for. So today, after three years of solo development, I’m opening the multiplayer arena to the world.“
Die Kickstarter-Kampagne schlug fehl
Der Indie-Entwickler Mad Mechs möchte die glorreiche Rennspiel-Action vergangener Tage mit Mad Metal zurückbringen. Als Inspirationsquellen für ihren Open World-Racer nennen sie Mad Max, Twisted Metal und Carmageddon und bei Carmageddon hatten sie uns.
Wer ihr vorhaben unterstützen möchte, kann das mit der gerade gestarteten Kickstarter-Kampagne machen. Alternativ könnt ihr das Spiel auch schon auf eure Wunschliste (PC – Steam) setzen. Der Release soll im vierten Quartal 2025 (PC) starten. Umsetzungen für PS5 und Nintendo Switch 2 sind ebenfalls angedacht.
„Our goal is to bring back the golden era of vehicle combat games,“ notes Mad Mechs developer Hakim Elayday. „Despite the fond memories we’ve had growing up with these games from the ’90s to the mid-2010s, we haven’t seen much buzz around the vehicle combat genre for several decades. After announcing Mad Metal in March 2025, we felt that nostalgic spark reignite once more in the tangible excitement from our fans. This is what drives us to revitalize the essence of old school vehicle shooters with our own high-tech, modern, and gritty twist.“
